H&K's model 94 is a
semiautomatic version of their famous MP-5 submachine gun.
It was mainly intended for
the US civilian market, and because of that, it is fitted with a 16" barrel
instead of the 8" barrel used in the subguns.
These carbines were also sold in some European countries, but they are no longer available because
of that
production has ended.
H&K also made similar
semi auto versions of their G3 and HK 33, dubbed HK 91 and HK 93.
The Swiss company of Brügger & Thomet is offering a semiautomatic version of the MP-5 for civilian
sales. This carbine is built on a Turkish produced receiver.
